Bout time!!!

Ok, ok, I know I am a horrible blog writer....no excuses, well I have excuse but no one wants to hear about it. Anyways, hubby is home for R&R...snoozing away as I type. He is enjoying sleeping in. We still have a few more days with him...not looking forward to goodbye again. But what can ya do....well I could break some legs, and fingers.....hmmmmm?!? I am sure we have all thought about that right?! :)

I will give y'all a couple of updates....ALOT has happened since the last time I wrote.

  • I lost my wallet...I was pretty damned upset about it. I had my life in there pretty much. I was hoping someone would find it and return it, but I haven't had such luck yet. I have gotten everything replaced that could be replaced. No funny charges on my back card, thank God for that.
  • Owen is sitting up on his own, going from belly to butt in 2.5 seconds! AND pulling up! Can you believe it? He is growing up so fast! He is a little pig too, always wanting to eat off my plate. If i have something to eat that I know he cant have...i have to hide to eat it! How bad is that! LOL
  • We went to Seaworld this past Saturday....it was a blast! If you are a Halloween fan, I would suggest going around this time! It was a fun time!
  • Bad news....on our way home, we hit a deer. We were driving the car because we only had 2 of the 3 kiddos with us, and we wanted to save on gas. Car was damaged pretty bad, but found out yesterday it is fixable. I kinda wished they would have totaled it....I wanted to put the money from the car into a loan and have it paid off soon. Plus i didn't want to pay the 500 deductible. Maybe once they get into the car and find some hidden stuff...it will jack the price up and they will have to total it....we will see.

Well I guess that is it for now...I'm sure I left some stuff out. We have about a week left with Paul, we are just going to hang around here, enjoying each others company.

I hope everyone is doing well and hanging in there!

I need a massage....

By my husband please! Three months down...its gone by pretty fast though, and I am thankful for that, but I miss that man!

A few updates....
  • Nolan had his stitches taken out last Friday. His hand looks pretty good, but I am sure that he is going to have a nice scar. He has been sick the past couple of days, diarrhea and vomiting, but acting normal. Blows my mind, hopefully he is getting over it, he does not need to miss school. He can't afford it!
  • Ethan's birthday was Monday, but we are celebrating it this Saturday. He is SO ready for his party! That is all he has talked about this week, that and eating some yummy cake he says! I can not believe he is 3 already!
  • Little Owen is defiantly mobile! He can get just about anywhere he wants to go just by scooting around on his tummy! Its so cute...i just wonder if he will ever crawl, he seems to be moving pretty fast this way, so he may just skip the whole crawling deal. I want to say that he is cutting teeth only because he produces enough drool in one day to form a small pond. But I don't see anything remotely close to a tooth popping through.
  • Me...I'm hanging in there. I just try to stay busy, think positive, and pray that my husband and everyone else's loved ones come home safe and soon.

The chaos just does not end!!!

Well, I knew this day would come sometime or another, ya know with me having ALL boys and all....Nolan had to get 3 stitches in his hand last night.

He was outside with a friend playing catch with the football, Nolan was tyring to catch the ball, tripped over a toy lawn mower and landed on a pretty tiny sharp little rock embedded into the asphalt. I watched the whole thing happen.....I thought he was OK, until I saw blood pouring from the top of his hand. He saw that and went ballistic! It was pretty difficult to get him calmed down. Luckily I had a friend, my neighbor and my sister here to help out. I think if I was here alone I would not have known what to do. So we run it under water, and see that it is in fact a REALLY deep cut. My neighbor bandages it up and off to the ER we go. Got there at about 8:45, and didn't get out of there till 12:30 am. Nolan was VERY good when they did the stitches, I kinda thought he would have screamed his head off, but he was calm, asking the doctor all kinds of questions about the stitches. I was proud of him! The nurse was a pretty young chick, and was telling Nolan that he might have a nice scar and told him that 'chicks dig scars'! Nolan just laughed and turned all shades of red! It was funny!

Anyways, the doc excused him from school till 12pm today, but he got up about 9:45am and said that he was ready to go to school. He said his hand was a little sore, so I gave him some Motrin. (doctor didn't give any pain meds...) fed him breakfast and took him to school. I think he was excited to tell all his classmates what happened!

I am sure this will not be my last trip to the ER for stitches....but it was the first...so I had to share!

Guilty....

Just to let everyone know...this is hard to put out there. I am so worried sick, stressed and just plain feel guilty for this happening.

There is huge possibility that Nolan is dyslexic. He has not been diagnosed yet. But while researching it, and having my husband tell me that he has been and still is showing signs of it, he has, I would say about 85-90% of the symptons of Dyslexia.

Now, why do I feel guilty about? Because last school year Paul was telling me that he thought Nolan might be dyslexic, me being a mother that wants think there is nothing wrong with her child...I just blew it off. Now, that the signs are defiently there....I have come to relizie that this may be true. I feel guilty and angry at myself for not seeing it sooner and doing something about it last year.

I had a conference with Nolans teacher on Monday, she mentioned dyslexia, BUT she said that she could not say anything else about it becasue she was not a doctor and could not diagnose him. But suggested maybe getting him tested.

In a nutshell Dyslexia is very poor reading and spelling in a bright person with nothing else wrong. That is Nolan. He has pretty decent grades, never failed in any subject, really great in all subject at school except for reading. When I was back home and we were at my families house and my uncles and friends would come up to me and tell me how bright they thought Nolan was.....he is a bright kid, but just can not grasp reading.

We have taken the next step in getting him diagnosed so hopefully he can get the help he needs.

The things kids say!!!!

This morning I was in the bathroom while Ethan was taking a bath. I was putting on my eyeliner and he said 'mommy what color are your eyes' I tell him they are green...he says 'oh I want yellow eyes'! I told him, when he grew up and got a job he could by some yellow contacts so he could have yellow eyes.....he said OKAY...and went on about playing with his toys. About 5 minutes later he says 'mommy can I have a blue computer'? I again tell him the same thing when he grows up and get a job, he can buy one. Once again he says OKAY....and on with his business!

Today while out shopping, Ethan got 3 small Nerf balls at Kohls. We go over to the mall and into Hot Topic where the nice lady that works there comes up to us and tells us about the sales going on....Ethan says to her....I GOT BALLS!!! OMG I about died! The lady didn't know what to say! After catching my breath from laughing...I told her that he got some Nerf balls at a store just a little bit ago! I told Ethan that if he wanted to tell people about his new balls, then he needed to say that he got a Football, or a Soccer ball, or a basket ball. He gets this serious look on his face and says....OKAY mommy!
I was looking at there bras and Ethan comes up to me and says 'mommy those for your boobies"?? Yes Ethan...lets go somewhere else!

I love that boy! He tells me at least 20 times a day I love you mommy! Melts my heart every time!

Okay, okay.....I'm updating the blog!!!

Yeah, so its been forever since I have been able to sit down and give an update.....so hear goes, forgive me if its a little random....that is how my mind works nowadays!
  • Owen can roll, scoot, and almost sit up on his own. I have a pretty big blanket that covers my living room floor (yes the living room is that small lol) so he rolls around on that. Rarely does he roll off of it, but if he does I put him back on it. He just started saying Da-da a couple of days ago. It is the cutest thing in the world! He is definitely growing up way to fast...but isn't that what they do?
  • Ethan is almost the big 3! Sept. 15th is his birthday, I plan on doing a little something for him. He loves parks...anyone have ideas on a great park to have a party at? Anyways, he is doing good. I really wish he could have went to pre-K this year...he miss the cut off date by 15 days. I may put him in some type of daycare for a couple hours a day. I know he will enjoy it..(well i hope so!) I know that he has to stay busy all the time, so I try to come up with new ideas to keep him happy!
  • Today was Nolan's first day of 2nd grade....again, they grow up way to fast! I cannot believe he is in 2nd grade already. I met his teacher last week, she seems to be a nice lady. She has been teaching for almost 20yrs, so she has a lot of experience. I am glad he is back in school, he was getting extremely board! Its hard to keep him and a 2yr old entertained. Finger painting is not really all that exciting to Nolan anymore!
  • I am doing OK....our trip back home was exactly what I needed! I am and have always been a Mommy's girl....so seeing my mom was so nice! I love to lay my head in her lap and let her play with my hair! I love that woman so much. Her and my daddy are planning on coming here in Feb. for Owens first birthday. I really hope they can make it.

That's about all folks....I am headed to bed. Owen has his 6 month check up tomorrow, so not looking forward to that.

I hope this finds everyone doing well!
